The Stitch Master Plan team has conducted stakeholder interviews with a range of affordable housing partners in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors during the planning process. The biggest takeaway from these meetings was that mixed-income housing is critical for achieving a healthy and vibrant economy. Many stakeholders also felt that the City of Atlanta’s current housing policies do not go far enough to deliver deep enough levels of affordability. Given the diversity of downtown populations and users, a range of incomes and housing types is desirable.
